What does Storage Whale (SW) Backup cost and what is covered/not covered?

  • $72 per device per year. Includes 1000gb/1TB cloud backup
  • Are external devices backed up?
    • Yes, external drives can be backed up. It is not on by default but can be turned on at any time.
  • Any file over 50gb will not be backed up

What should I expect after I purchase Storage Whale?

  • Once your order has been placed, within 2-5 minutes you will receive a welcome email from Storage Whale Support Containing:
    • Instructions on how to install your Storage Whale Backup
    • Links to download Storage Whale for either Windows or Mac
    • The activation URL. blue.mysecuredatavault.com
    • A unique personal activation code

Install and set-up process for Storage Whale. How do I set-up Storage Whale and backup files?

  • Installation:
    • Select your version of computer, then run the download for Storage Whale
    • Follow the instructions for the installation. Once installed enter the activation URL and your personal activation code.
    • Choose which files you would like backup by clicking the check boxes. We recommend all of them.
    • Click scan files now in the bottom right.
  • Log In:
    • View Subscriptions - Here you can see how many devices you have and how much data each device has backed up.
    • Delete Device- Here you can delete any devices you are not using anymore or no longer want
    • Backing Up Data - Backups run every 15 minutes - Don’t worry you won’t even know it’s running while you are working so you can rest assured that your files are protected and can be restored when you need them.
    • Restoring Data – With SW, restoring files is easy and simple. Just open the client, select restore and search for the file you need and where you want to restore it to. Yes, it’s that easy!

Already subscribed to Carbonite?

  • You’re existing coverage/rate will remain as is until the time of your annual renewal. At that time, you will be able to purchase this enhanced service.

I currently have a contract for another Backup Service, but I want SW. What do I do?

  1. Once you sign up for the Storage Whale, you need to decide if you want a copy of your old data. If so, make sure to pull everything off your old program that you want. Make sure SW is backing up the files you

For Storage Whale to provide the best possible support experience, please assist us in helping you by preparing and providing the following information.

  • Detailed description of the issue.
  • List of affected device/devices.
  • Email address connected to the account

Limitations:

Storage Whale will not be responsible for correcting any errors that are (i) not reproducible by Storage Whale; (ii) identified on modified versions of the server and/or software; or (iii) software errors related to any of the following: (A) failure to install or implement all Maintenance Releases or New Versions made available to Customer; (B) changes to Customer’s operating system or environment that adversely affect the Products and Services; (C) any alterations of or additions to the Products and Services made by anyone other than Storage Whale; (D) use of the Products and Services in a manner for which such Products and Services were not designed or not otherwise in conformance with the Documentation; (E) accident, negligence or misuse of

the Products and Services; or (F) use of the Products or Services on a CPU other than the designated CPU(s) for the Products and Services at issue. Storage Whale will only be obligated to support Products and Services versions for the later of one (1) year from the date of commercial release of such version or six (6) months following the date of commercial release of the subsequent Products and Services version.
